Faisal M. Sanai, MD, is a consultant transplant hepatologist at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and has served as a clinical assistant professor at King Saud University (KSU) in Riyadh. Dr. Sanai completed a fellowship in hepatology and liver transplantation at the London Health Sciences Center in Ontario (Canada) in 2003. He is the editor-in-chief of the Saudi Journal of Gastroenterology and has served on the editorial boards of Liver International and World Journal of Gastroenterology. Dr. Sanai has interest in topics related to viral hepatitis, NAFLD and hepatocellular carcinoma, among others, and has over 130 publications in both national and international journals as well as over 200 abstracts presented. He has previously served on the board of directors of the Saudi Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and Transplantation, the Saudi Gastroenterology Association, and the Liver Disease Research Center at KSU. He is an advisor to the Ministry of Health (Saudi Arabia) for the prevention of viral hepatitis. He has done pioneering work on the formation and publication of national guidelines on various liver diseases. |
